How’s My Driving? - Safe Driving Blog Tips

As we have already mentioned, for probably about the 100th time this year…it’s our birthday! We have been around for 20 years, and we thought that it was a good time to celebrate our success and look back on all of our achievements so far.

How’s My Driving? was the first safety badge scheme of its kind, and still is today. With over 10,000 vehicles displaying the prestigious yellow and black safety badge, it is safe to say that we are very proud of the progress we have made. As we are a not for profit organisation, it is so important to us that our success is helping to fund different road safety projects across the world. Let’s take a quick look at just some of the fantastic projects we have made possible over the last two decades:

• The Walking School Bus; The scheme encouraged parents, carers, volunteers or employed helpers to walk children to school along a set route, picking up children along the way. Over 70 schools benefited from the programme and as a result, How's My Driving? was presented with an award from Southwark Council.
• Transaid; We sponsored Claire who cycled a fantastic, 500km for Madagascar to raise money for Transaid.
• The InTandem Cycle Safety Badge; We launched an InTandem road safety competition, supported by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) inviting road users to design a new hazard badge, in a bid to cut HGV/Cycle collisions.
